God is opening a new chapter for Compassionate Hands and for the community we love to live in. 

Coming soon, Compassionate Hands is expanding our ministry and operational capacity to include transitional living. 

Creating a pathway for people to move from crisis toward long-term stability, providing a lasting exit from homelessness.

Our immediate fundraising milestone is $300,000 by December 31.

Fundraising Goal

We are working toward a Phase One fundraising goal of $600,000, which will help us acquire and prepare the building and sustain the ministry during this transition.
Currently, Compassionate Hands is renting half of Stallings’ building where the men's facility operates.  It is our desire to own the whole building. Ownership is necessary in order to renovate and make essential improvements.

The mission of Hearn House is to provide a Christ-centered pathway for men rebuilding their lives after substance abuse, incarceration, homelessness, or other life-altering circumstances. Through safe housing, supportive community, accountability, and discipleship, we help men move from instability toward independence and lives of purpose.

Our long-term goal is to offer permanent housing, sacred settlements, and a church-developed community housing network.

  • In 2012, Gale Hearn and Larry Locke saw a need in our community and responded with compassion. Through their prison outreach ministry at College Hills Church of Christ, they recognized that men returning from incarceration needed more than a place to sleep. They needed someone to believe in them. They needed guidance, accountability, friendship, and a Christ-centered community willing to walk alongside them as they rebuilt their lives.

    What began as a simple act of seeing their neighbors became the Hearn House.
